These crispy, cheesy calzones are stuffed with a creamy chicken Alfredo filling and cooked to perfection in the air fryer. A delicious, easy-to-make meal that’s perfect for lunch, dinner, or even as a fun snack!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 cup cooked chicken, shredded
  • 1 cup Alfredo sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup ricotta cheese
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Marinara sauce (optional, for dipping)

Instructions

  • Prepare the dough: Divide the pizza dough into 4 equal portions. Roll each portion into a circle approximately 6 inches in diameter.
  • Make the filling: In a medium bowl, combine shredded chicken, Alfredo sauce, mozzarella cheese, ricotta cheese, Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, and garlic powder. Mix until well combined.
  • Fill the calzones: Place 2-3 tablespoons of the filling on one half of each dough circle, leaving a small border around the edges. Fold the dough over to form a half-moon shape and press the edges together to seal. Crimp the edges with a fork to ensure they stay sealed.
  • Apply the egg wash: Brush the tops of the calzones with the beaten egg for a golden, glossy finish.
  • Air fry: Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Place the calzones in the air fryer basket, making sure there’s space between them (cook in batches if needed). Air fry for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
  • Serve: Let the calzones cool for a few minutes before serving. Serve warm with marinara sauce for dipping, if desired.

Notes

  • If you prefer, you can use store-bought or homemade pizza dough for this recipe.
  • For a spicier twist, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the filling.
  • You can swap the chicken for cooked sausage or beef if preferred.
