  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ tsp cinnamon

Instructions

  • Prepare the Cheesecake Filling:
    In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Beat with a hand mixer or whisk until smooth and creamy. Gently fold in the diced strawberries, ensuring they are evenly distributed. Set aside.
  • Assemble the Wontons:
    Place a wonton wrapper on a clean, flat surface. Scoop about 1 teaspoon of cheesecake filling and place it in the center of the wrapper. Moisten the edges with water using your fingertip or a brush. Fold the wrapper into your desired shape (triangle, pouch, or sealed design) and press along the edges to seal. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.
  • Fry the Wontons:
    Heat vegetable oil in a deep pot or skillet to 350°F (175°C), maintaining the temperature using a thermometer. Fry a few wontons at a time, turning them as needed, for 1-2 minutes on each side until golden brown. Using a slotted spoon, remove the wontons and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
  • Coat with Cinnamon Sugar:
    In a small bowl, mix granulated sugar and cinnamon. While the wontons are still warm, toss them in the cinnamon-sugar mixture, ensuring an even coating.
  • Serve:
    Arrange the wontons on a platter and serve warm with strawberry jam or whipped cream for dipping.

Notes

  • Be sure not to overstuff the wontons, as this can cause them to burst during frying.
  • If you don’t have a thermometer, you can test the oil by dropping in a small piece of wonton wrapper—if it bubbles and fries quickly, the oil is ready.
  • For a twist, try adding a small amount of chocolate chips or nutella to the cheesecake filling.
