Ingredients
Scale
- 4 halibut fillets, about 6 ounces each
- 3 tablespoons white miso paste
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
- 1 small garlic clove, finely grated
- 3 cups cooked white rice
- 4 cups bok choy, steamed or quickly sautéed
- 2 tablespoons green onions, thinly sliced
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F and line a baking dish with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the white miso paste, honey, low sodium soy sauce, rice vinegar, toasted sesame oil, grated ginger, and grated garlic until smooth.
- Place the halibut fillets in the prepared baking dish with a little space between each piece.
- Spoon the glaze over the tops and sides of the fish, then let it sit for 15 to 20 minutes.
- Bake for 10 to 14 minutes, until the fish flakes easily with a fork and reaches 145°F in the center.
- Spoon a little pan glaze over the cooked fish, then sprinkle with green onions and sesame seeds.
- Serve warm over cooked white rice with bok choy on the side.
Notes
- Do not marinate the fish for too long because miso and soy sauce are strong.
- Use parchment paper to help prevent the honey glaze from sticking.
- Start checking the fish around 10 minutes because halibut can dry out quickly.
- For a gluten free version, use gluten free tamari instead of soy sauce.
