- 4 cod fillets, about 6 ounces each
- 3 tablespoons white miso paste
- 2 tablespoons sriracha sauce
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 pounds Yukon Gold potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons sliced green onions
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and heat a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- In a bowl, whisk together white miso paste, sriracha sauce, soy sauce, honey, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger until smooth.
- Pat cod fillets dry and season lightly with salt and pepper.
- Brush the glaze generously over the cod fillets.
- Lightly grease the skillet and sear the cod for 2 minutes per side.
- Transfer skillet to the oven and bake for 8 to 10 minutes until the fish flakes easily with a fork.
- Meanwhile, boil the potatoes until tender. Drain and mash with butter and milk until creamy. Season with remaining salt and pepper.
- Serve the cod over mashed potatoes and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.
Notes
- Adjust the amount of sriracha depending on your preferred spice level.
- Fresh cod delivers the best flaky texture.
- Do not overcook the fish or it may become dry.
- The glaze can be prepared up to 2 days ahead and refrigerated.
