Ingredients

Scale

For the Dough:

  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour

For the Strawberry Filling:

  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, finely chopped
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch

For the Strawberry Icing:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • ¼ cup fresh strawberries, pureed
  • 1 tbsp cream or milk (adjust for desired consistency)
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Make the Dough:
    • In a large bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm milk. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until frothy.
    • Add sugar, melted butter, eggs, and salt. Gradually mix in flour until a soft dough forms.
    • Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5–7 minutes, or until smooth and elastic.
    • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
  • Prepare the Filling:
    • In a bowl, mix chopped strawberries, sugar, cinnamon, and cornstarch. Set aside.
  • Assemble the Rolls:
    • Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a large rectangle (about 18×12 inches).
    • Spread the strawberry filling evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
    • Roll up the dough tightly from the longer side to form a log.
    • Cut the log into 12 equal slices using a sharp knife or dental floss.
  • Second Rise:
    • Place the rolls in a greased 9×13-inch baking pan, leaving a little space between each roll.
    • Cover and let rise again until doubled in size (about 30 minutes).
  • Bake:
    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
    • Bake the rolls for 25 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  • Make the Icing:
    • In a bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, strawberry puree, cream (or milk), and vanilla extract until smooth.
    • Adjust consistency by adding more cream or powdered sugar as needed.
  • Serve:
    • Drizzle the icing over the warm rolls.
    • Serve immediately and enjoy!
