Ingredients
Scale
- 12 ounces spaghetti
- 1 pound salmon fillets, skin removed and cut into bite-sized chunks
- 1 large red bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/3 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water
- 2 green onions, thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and warm a large skillet over medium heat.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, garlic, ginger, sesame oil, and the cornstarch mixed with water.
- Add olive oil to the skillet and season the salmon chunks with black pepper.
- Cook the salmon for 2 to 3 minutes per side until just cooked through, then transfer it to a plate. In the same skillet, cook the sliced red bell pepper for 2 minutes.
- Boil the spaghetti until al dente, reserve 1/2 cup pasta water, then drain.
- Pour the sauce into the skillet with the peppers and simmer for 1 to 2 minutes until lightly thickened.
- Add the pasta to the skillet and toss until coated, adding a splash of reserved pasta water if needed.
- Gently fold in the salmon, then finish with green onions and sesame seeds before serving warm.
Notes
- Use low-sodium soy sauce to keep the sauce balanced.
- Fold the salmon in gently so the pieces stay tender.
- Add pasta water slowly until the sauce coats the noodles smoothly.
- For a spicy version, add 1 to 2 teaspoons chili garlic sauce to the glaze.
