These Valentine’s Day Swirled White Chocolate Candies are a simple yet elegant treat, perfect for celebrating love. With a beautiful marbled effect created by red food coloring, these heart-shaped chocolates are as delightful to look at as they are to eat. Sweet, creamy, and festive!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups white chocolate chips or chopped white chocolate
  • 1 tbsp shortening (to help with smooth melting)
  • Red food coloring
  • Heart-shaped cookie cutter

Instructions

  • Prepare the Pan:
    • Line a baking sheet or a flat surface with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  • Melt the White Chocolate:
    • In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the white chocolate and shortening.
    • Microwave in 15-20 second intervals, stirring in between, until completely melted and smooth. Be careful not to overheat.
  • Swirl the Red Food Coloring:
    • Add 1-2 drops of red food coloring to the melted white chocolate.
    • Use a toothpick or skewer to gently swirl the food coloring into the chocolate to create a marbled effect. Avoid overmixing to maintain the swirl pattern.
  • Spread the Chocolate:
    • Pour the swirled chocolate onto the prepared parchment paper. Spread it evenly to about 1/4-inch thickness using a spatula.
  • Set and Shape the Candies:
    • Allow the chocolate to set slightly but not completely (it should still be pliable). This will take about 5-10 minutes at room temperature.
    • Once the chocolate has partially set, use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out heart candies.
    • Carefully remove the hearts and place them on another piece of parchment paper to cool and harden fully.
  • Final Touches:
    • Allow the candies to set completely at room temperature or place them in the refrigerator for 10-15 minutes to firm up faster.

Notes

  • You can experiment with different colors of food coloring to make multicolored swirls or to match any theme.
  • For an extra touch, sprinkle edible glitter or a little sea salt on top before the chocolate sets.
  • These candies make a great gift when packaged in a cute box or bag!
